Code works on Infopath 2003 but not Infopath 2007

    Good Afternoon,

We have many many infopath forms which have been created on Visual Studio 2003.  They work fine with Infopath 2003 but recently a few users have migrated to Infopath 2007.  Some of the code on the forms dosen't seem to be working.  An example is that we use some code to hide and approve / reject button - thisApplication.User.IsUserMemberOf(<adGroup>).  Any ideas why this dosen't work in 2007?  Obviously we could change the form to user the inbuilt User Roles function but there are so many forms it would be too time consuming.  Help!?

     Many Thanks

     J

    Hi J,

InfoPath 2003 and InfoPath 2007 use different object models. You can't just copy snippets of code from one to the other and expect it to work. Now, your InfoPath 2003 code will work in InfoPath 2007 assuming the project is not set up to use the new object model. Of course, new projects set up to use the IP2007 OM won't work at all on IP2003. Forwards compat works but only if you don't mix and match the OMs. Hope this helps!
