Good Morning All - I have a form that is used to request funding for a project that was previously submitted on a separate form (funding request is not always needed, so it is not included in the project form).  I have a look up on the Funding form that copies the topic information from the Project form to the Funding form - the problem is the Project date field - it copies just fine, but the field highlights in red - as an error - stating "this field must be date" only".  I've changed the formating (on both forms) to "date","date and time", Display XML.  I haven't gotten any combination to work.  If I change it to a text field, I don't get the error - then it works fine (I need the date for filtering and sorting).

What does the copied data look like when it copies into the new form's date field?

Use substring-before(DateField," ") to strip out the time and try to add that date value in to a date field.

That was it - Thank you so much - I'm still a little confussed why - if I had the field formatted for date and time, shouldn't that have worked?

Yes, such logic should have worked, but MS code can be finicky at times.
