I have a question I was hoping you all would help me with.
I have developed a fairly large number of InfoPath forms for my organization. I developed them with InfoPath 2003 and Visual Studios 2005 using the InfoPath toolkit for VS2005, all on an XP machine. The forms are published on a WSS 3.0 server, all contain managed .NET code, and many run with full trust.
My organization has begin migrating to Vista Enterprise and Office 2007. I was just forced to rebuild my workstation into this environment. I do have another workstation available that still has office 2003 and XP, but I am possibly going to create scrutiny if I use it in addition to this one.
We are supposed to be completely switched over to the new environment by the end of the year.
For the time being, I still need to support our old solutions. I know that I am eventually going to have to recreate them using the new environment so that I can continue to support them after the mandatory switch to vista + office 2007, but I have other pressing priorities right now.
What would you recommend? Is there any possible way that I can continue to support the existing solutions by using a development environment that consists of office 2007 and visual studios 2005?
I will probably eventually have Visual Studios 2008 on this machine as well. I am concerned about possible conflicts between the various toolkits.
Should I setup another workstation using Windows XP, office 2003, and visual studios 2005, and use that to support the existing solutions for the rest of the year until I can rewrite them using the new tools, or is it possible for me to support them using office 2007 + visual studios 2005 on my new workstation?
Thank you all very much for your time.
