    InfoPath and Excel

    Hi,

I have some problem and I don't know how I can resolve this.

I have one InfoPath form and I need to export to Excel.

For this is ok, I use the menu export. And no problem.

But Can I export to the same excel file multiple completed forms?

    Thank you!

yes, you can select multiple InfoPath forms in the last screen of that dialog and it will go out and export the data from all of those xmls. Of course, they need to have the same schema, but this should work. I know, I worked on it 10 years ago. :)

    Hi Patrick,

    thank you for your replay.

I have only one InfoPath form, but I would like to export that for the same Excel file, in referent dates.

For example, Today I am filling the form with information about amount in June and I export to Excel file amout.xls.

Next month I will fill the same form but with information about February. Can I export for the same Excel file amount.xls?

    How Can I do this?

Because every time I can tried to export with the Menu (File->Export->Excel) on InfoPath, and it opened a new Excel file and I want the same but in other Sheet.

    Can I do this?

    Thanks,

    Regards

I see, so you want to update amount.xls with the new data. Well, why not save it for June as an XML. When July comes, export as normal but select the file June at the same time. Then you will get both months. Disadvantage to this approach is that it will recreate amount.xls so if you have special formatting changes, those will be lost.

To save the formatting changes, you can set up a Smart Document in Excel. Bind the InfoPath form's schema to the Excel spreadsheet when you create the smart document (to get the schema, you can use the XML file or save the source files frmo the InfoPath designer and use the schema.xsd file). Then, you can save the XML and import the files from Excel directly and save the formatting.

    Hope that helps.
