    Add-in Menu not showing

    Hi,

I've created an Add-in for InfoPath to show a custom task pane for user to fill the form faster. I got the example from MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb968857.aspx), but I'm stuck with one problem. When I open my forms from InfoPath everything works fine, but if I launch a form directly from Explorer by doubleclicking it the Add-ins menu doesn't appear in the menubar. So obviously the events won't fire if opened directly from the filesystem. But after I launch a second form from the Explorer (without closing the first one) the Add-ins menu appears in the menubar correctly. So perhaps the Add-in doesn't have time to load itself to register the events when started first time from the Explorer window?

I appreciate any help to solve this problem.

    Hi Dave,

Have you sent e-mail to Robert Green (author of that article) to ask him? His e-mail is rgreen (at) 123mcwtech (dot) com.

Thank you Patrick for your suggestion. I will sent an e-mail to Robert. I'll post the solution here too if I find one.

Looks like email is bouncing. This may be as easy as refreshing the taskpane. I don't know. Greg is back from vacation on 6.21. He may have a good idea. We do a lot of taskpanes here at Qdabra and I've never seen this issue. Probably related to Robert's controls. Good luck!

Ok. Thanks for the info. I'll wait for Robert's return. Btw just out of curiosity are you creating your task panes as Add-ins or HTML task panes or something else? And do you know is there a way to launch an Add-in manually? You suggested to refresh the task pane, but I can't launch the task pane because I can't see the menu (from which the users start the task pane).
