I'm not trying to do just one thing here, there are multiple solutions that will be acceptable.
You see the environment here is the challenge. There is a form and it transitions many times emailing and submitting each time.
When the next group receives the email they have an attachment and a link. If it's an IE user the link works great, or the attachment. If it's a Firefox user they can open the attachment directly but the link forces them to login and just doesn't work right, easier to copy and paste the link in IE.
So obviously the attachment can do the trick, but here's the problem, the attachment may not be fully up to date and even if it was does not guarantee someone does not have the form open making changes.
Ideally you want them to open the URL which forces ensures one person is making the changes with the most up to date version. Now the Firefox user can open the attachment, then go to file open paste the URL and open the latest version, so why can't I just code in the document when being open as an attachment load the doc via the URL.
I know how to recognize if opened as an attachment, and I have the full URL from the first time the form is submitted. The problem I'm having is trying to open the form from JScript, just doesn't work, various errors depending on the method used.
I really help with this, I've spent a lot of time researching prior to submitting this question.
The form runs as domain trust but I could sign if needed but through testing signing did not help. I know C# and having signed would offer the most results but I'm sure this can work based on other less secure features I've seen work.
Thanks,
J
