    Multi-view form will not browser-enable

I am new to InfoPath and have a problem.

I have a InfoPath form (a survey) that has 20 different views.  Each view is based upon how certain questions are answered.  Each view has a Next & Back button and within the Next button there are rules to make sure the current page is completed correctly before proceeding.  The forms works great in InfoPath preview, but it will not publish as a web-enabled form.  And even better there are no errors when I run Design Checker.  I've read about the option of using debug, but that's not an option due to work environment restrictions.

I have gone so far as to publish one page at a time and each one publishes.  I need HELP!

PS - trying to publish to a SharePoint Website.  If anyone is willing to take a look at the .xsn file I don't have a problem with that - I've put so many hours into this, I just need it to work.  If anyone does want to look, you will have to tell me what is wrong, not just fix the file due to security within the company.

8:05 AM - More info - I was just able to publish 9 of the views to the SharePoint site.  HOWEVER, after they published, I did not close InfoPath or even go to a different screen and I tried published the EXACT same data again and now it will not web-enable.

8:08 AM - again published the EXACT same data and this time it web-enabled.

    This is driving me insane!

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I have a couple of questions:

[1] What do you exactly mean by: is and is not web-enabled?
[2] Do you get errors during the publishing process in the InfoPath client or does the form not open in the browser?
[3] Did you configure the level of security of the form?
[4] Did you check the Display as web page checkbox in the SharePoint Library settings you are publishing to ?
[5] Did you check the Design a form template that can be opened in a browser or InfoPath checkbox in the InfoPath client?
[6] Does you form contain code?

1 & 2 -   When it publishes successfully, the publishing wizzard says "Your form template was published successfully.".

When it does not, 'the form template could not be vrowser-enabled, but is was successfully published for use with Microsoft Office InfoPath." When you select close from the publishing wizzard, it trys "connecting to server' then I get 'InfoPath either cannot connect to the data source or the service has timed out.".

    3. No

    4. Yes

    5. Yes

    6. No

    Can you confirm this?

Also, set the level of security of the InfoPath form to "Domain", This can be done by following the following steps:

[1] On the menu, go to Tools > Form Options
[2] On the Form Options dialog box , click on the Security and Trust category
[3] Uncheck the Automatically determine security level (recommended) checkbox
[4] Select the Domain level security and press OK
[5] Publish and test the form

This will take just a little bit.  There SharePoint servers are in another state and I have to wait for one of the tech's to respond.

Could you send me the form if you don't mind, I will try to publish it here and see if I get the same errors.

While I've been waiting for the tech to respond, I thought I'd try to publish my form to my live site - I was informed to use the 'developement' site until my form works.... SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Glad it works. This means that there is probably something wrong with the Development SharePoint site and not with your InfoPath form.

I believe the problem is the developement site.  However, I've tried to publish it on live site (before I changed the security to domain) and it did not work.

Are you still willing to take a look at my form to determine the cause of it not web-enabling?  I'm still having problems.

Re: Multi-view form will not web-enable

I've given up on the idea of being able to email the entire completed document.  As Mr Cobb discovered it's too large.  So, I've narrowed the view down to just some basic information to let the person know they need to go to the SharePoint site and find the details.  I have set the view option on each view, that they need to see, and that allows them to easily change to the view they need via the InfoPath toolbar that I have display at the top of each form.  Not the best solution, but it's my only choice at this time.

Now that I have a 'reduced' email view setup, that publishes and brower enables, a new problem has arose.  In the submit button, I can submit the form to the SharePoint site - no problem.  When I try to submit the email view to an email data connection I get 'An error occurred submitting this form to the Web server'.  I have removed the email data connection and created it again.  I have double/triple checked the email address.  I have read about the problem of changing to a view and trying to email all within the submit button.  So, on the last page of the survey, I have a next button that changes to the email view where I placed the submit button at the top of the view.

Did changing all those data validation fields to "never" do anything, or did it still have trouble publishing?

Is that last part working (submit to email DC), or do you still need to get it resolved?

Yes, changing the data validation makes the survey much faster online.  However, it did nothing for publishing - the only thing that corrected the publishing was reducing the items in the email view.

    Submit to Email - Nope.
