InfoPath Dev

I have a data source with over 1800 items from which my users will need to select only one, and a dropdown list just doesn't seem appropriate for this.  Does anyone know of any other methods of item selection I can implement on my form?

Where does your list come from? SharePoint? Could you do some filtering on a different column to narrow down the items from 1800 to a small amount?

As Ernesto says, you definitly need to do some filtering as I don't think that users will like a dropdownlist consisting of 1800 items. May be you can make two dropdownlists where a user selects a value from the first one and based on that you update the second dropdownlist.
