I have a secondary data source to a list. I have a door that needs upgrading, so when the door is upgraded; the time the door was upgraded is stored in a library and the form. The problem is that when a user selects the dropdown for lets say # of Hinges that need to be replaced by mistake, the time the hinges was upgraded changes on the form. If the user wants to upgrade any other part of the door by clicking a dropdown on lets say # of deadbolts to replace the saves the form as they would want, it saves the time for the mistaken # of hinges replaced as well and does not allow the user to default or go back to the time save that's in the library field. If the user saves the form the Library field and the secondary data source will keep the updated date.
I was trying to compare what was in the form saved to the library by using a secondary data source. Say if the user select the same # of hinges as there are that's stored in the secondary data source in the form from the library, the the control will retrieve the time in the secondary data sorce field and populate the form control called # of Hinges. Therefore, the time would default back to what it was in the Library and allow the user to change other controls.
If anyone can think of an easier way to do this, please let me know. Thanks.
