Good day!

I'm a new user of Sharepoint, Infopath and ASP.NET programming. Is it possible in sharepoint + infopath to generate a unique ID compossed of a code for example CUS + 001---> which is a autogenerated number? This code should be generated in the form created...

If possible, can anyone provide me with a sample code i can study?

hello swathip, thanks a lot for the great link. Though i havent actually tried it yet since its still quite confusing to me, thanks for the help. :D Im sure this will help.

 By the way, is it possible to get the first few letters of the an input from a textfield and add that to the unique ID being generated on the same form?

Hi,

Yes, you can get the few letters from the input of a text field using Substring function. It contains three arguments. It returns the substring of the first argument starting at the position specified in the second argument and the length specified in the third argument. After getting that, use concat function to concatenate the letters with ID.
