Creating a Choice Section in InfoPath 2007?

I'm attempting to create a choice section which has 4 choice options. Does anyone know how I do this in InfoPath 2007. If so, please point me to an example or a blog on it. Thanks.

    Hi Michael71,

InfoPath 2007 already has a control called "Choice Group" (Choice Section). In each Choice Group you can define one or more Choice Sections (Choice options).

    Kind Regards,

    Samir

    Samir,

Can you tell me where is this control, because I don't see it on the design mode of the form. Are you certain this feature isn't just for InfoPath 2003?

It is in the Advanced section of controls and is available for InfoPath 2007.

    Hilary,

The only controls I see under advance is Hyperlink and Expression Box. My form is brower enabled, does that has something to do with it? Also Hilary, I just want to say you are fantastic.

Yes. See this Office Online post to find controls that are not available for browser forms. You may have to try to mimic the functionality using conditional formatting and browser compatible controls.

I've added 4 different sections in a repeating section. It almost works like real Group sections, but they do not alternate. Where would I start to mimic the choice group, if the selection is not on the Insert control. There can be only one selection on this control.

    Hilary,

Would you know how to format the Choice groups? I have a choice group with 2 choices and it works fine, but there is a lot of white space left unused by the choice group. I have no way of resizing it and quite honestly, it's annoying. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I was sort of thinking along the lines of having a set of option buttons for the user, then displaying the correct section based on the option selected. So they wouldn't be using the insert menu / choice group style formatting at all....

You need to delete any blank lines in the choice group. Also you can delete any blank lines in the Choice Sections as well. The group will resize to only hold one section (as long as there aren't any blank lines in it).

    Hillary,

Would this allow me to add different sections in different places. If I understand right, the option buttons will only hide and show a section, not insert mutiple section alternating different sections the way the user wishes. They might have a Appointment first or a Flight first and then a Ground Transportation next.

Your understanding is correct. I'm afraid that I can't think of a non-clunky method for this in a browser form....

    Hillary,

Do Microsoft plan to solve this issue and add choice sections to InfoPath 2010 maybe?
