Hi,

I am new to Infopath and managed to prepare a form which works good but when I upload it to a web-page and try to open it from there, I get the error messgae below;


The form template is attempting to redirect itself to a different and potentially unsafe location.
The form template is accessed through a redirection from a different domain, which is not allowed because it could cause unsafe code to run on your computer.

If you want to open this form template, copy it to a location within your security domain.

Any idea what would be the reason?

Can you explain how you "uploaded" the form to a web site? Did you publish this to a network share? Publish to a SharePoint library?

Thank you for your email. I uploaded it to our Company's intranet website which in on public internet. The site is running on an Oracle database and a kind of Portal.

John, did you publish the form through InfoPath to this location or did you just do a copy paste to the internet site?

It seems you did not publish it to the site(within Domain), so cannot open the template in the domain. Just copying the Infopath template on the site will not help you to open the form.

Yes, I did NOT publish it to the site. But even uploading as a standalone file would allow me at least to open it, right? Like putting to a file server \\fileserver\form.xsn or having the form as an attachment in an email would at least allow me to open it. I do know that we need to publish it, but it is the next step.

For our intranet, there is also another authentication to log-in, can it be a problem?

The problem is, our intranet site is a kinf of Portal and running on Oracle and we cannot have www.intranetsite.com/forms/form.xsn
If you upload, it creates like "hash number" (www.intranetsite.com/5tEdfRts?dh)

I am happy to try anything you will suggest.
