InfoPath Dev

Hi, I need to find out what the best approach is for the above ; I have an infopath template (eg. a fax header for instance) which I need to populate with values then generate a word document. I'm working in the context of an ASP.NET web application with access to an instance of Sharepoint 2007. This must be a programmatic (c#) process.

I'm not sure where to start with this - any suggestions on best way would be appreciated
