InfoPath Dev

Hi,

 "InfoPath cannot open the form" - does it sound familiar for anybody ? I just can't run with and without debugging mode under visual studio 2008.

It worked fine like 2 days ago. I haven't made any changes to the form code which could produce this behavior, so I don't know what is going on.

 Whenever I publish the form (to SP library) then it works fine, no error. I checked the 'design tasks' and there are no errors.

What to do, where to look for extra informations, how to solve it ? I have to admit that this error message is super frustrating :/

To clarify a little bit. I'm talking here about infopath 2007 with latest updates on vista.

Hi tomasz,

This one sounds all too familiar.

Try this first: close Visual Studio and open the manifest in design mode (right click on the file).  Try to preview the form from there.  Sometimes that will give you a more detailed error message, say, if one of the components or required files is missing.

 Nice hint but I didn't found any extra information about my problem, however I found the solution.

"Clear infopatch cache" -> Start -> Run and type Infopath /cache clearall

Apparently this problem was caused because I was trying to work on the form on two different machines.

At work push the code to source control and at home retrieve it to my desktop.

Yes, I've had to use that one, as well.  Sometimes, that still doesn't seem to do the trick and I have to republish the template, and then re-extract the source files before it will work.  Also, double-clicking the manifest file can sometimes trigger the template update (the "keep form on your computer" vs "replace form on your computer" question).
