Pull in a variable from an URL

This may be a stupid question, but I can't get my brain around it.

I have a series of 5 hyperlinks each
    http://link ?ID=1
    http://link ?ID=2
    http://link ?ID=3
    http://link ?ID=4
    http://link ?ID=5

Once someone clicks on the hyperlink, I want the ID number to populate a field in my InfoPath form. Is this possible? If so, is there an easy 'point and click' way to do this.

    Thanks!

Hi Gbertrand Welcome to the Forums,

Your hyperlink ‘Link to#%92 value is hard coded or you are getting this value from other node? If you are hard coded then we do not have a chance to get that value. If those values are getting from some other node then you can easily get that node value.

Hello.. I was just using those hyperlinks as an example. I want to capture the data past the "question mark" and populate a field in my InfoPath form. I have a series of 5 CBT's that I am publishing within my company. At the end of each CBT is a hyperlink that points to a single InfoPath form. I want to modify each hyperlink to so that it passes data to a form field in the InfoPath form.

    Thanks!

    Hi Gbertrand,

Sorry for the late, by using rules you can set the field value in your InfoPath form. And value to get data after the ‘question mark#%92 using string function we can do this.
By using substring-after(“Hyper link string value", "?") code you can get ID=1 value.

Re: Pull in a variable from an URL

    Shiva,

I have a similar situation. When using InfoPath 2007, I'm not sure where to look to grab the URL for a web-based form. I don't see an asset or option for setting a field equal to a URL value. How do I actually get the value of the URL for manipulation in the form?

    Thanks.
