    Dataset contains null values

    Here is scenario: I'm using web service to receive and submit data from myForm to the SQL server. The DB is very simple (IPAddress (PK), Gateway, DNS). DNS is defined that can contain null.

    The problem is when I try to retrieve the rows that have null in DNS column (there is no problem when trying to retrieve records that have DNS names). The error showing is "The attribute '{http://www.w3.org/XML/1998/namespace}space' on the element '{http://tempuri.org/serverDataSet.xsd}DNSName' is not defined in the DTD/Schema."

    I have looked into XML file that web service returns to myForm and it states (here is part of it):

    <usp_ServerTableSelect diffgr:id="usp_ServerTableSelect2" msdata:rowOrder="1">

      <DNSName xml:space="preserve"></DNSName>

    I In form I have tried to put DNS field into Optional Section, but that didn't work.
     Any suggenstions?

    Hi

    I have the exact same problem.

     Have you find any solution? Do you have anything to share?

    TIA

    I have found out what is causing this. The DNSName field in databse is varchar type and it doesn't allows null values. That's ok.

    The thing is when I try to submit from InfoPath empytf field DNSNAme, it is passed as ' ' (without space) and it is not interpret as null value.

    I have employeed a validation on the form and everything is now working fine now.

    The only problem is that DNSName when empty become uneditable (eg I cannot write new name). Is there any solution to this?
