InfoPath Dev

I am using WSS 3.0 and Infopath 2003.... I am trying to get a date field from my infopath call report form to show up as a column in the call report document library, but I can't seem to get it to work.  I have gone into Tools, Form Options, Form Library Columns and set the field name to the corresponding document library column name.  Is that all that is required?  I don't see where to specify the document library or is that taken care of by the submit data connection to the library?   Is there another publishing option in Infopath 2003 that I'm missing?

I found some interesting articles out there regarding field property promotion... so I installed Infopath 2007 to be sure I had all the tools necessary to get this working correctly.  I am still experiencing issues getting infopath form field data to show up in my library column.  Does anyone know if there is something about using a form library to store forms that might be preventing my data from showing up?  My exact scenario is this:  I have an infopath call report form with a choice field representing a salesperson name.  What I want the form to do upon submission is get stored in the form library and also populate the salesperson column of that library with the data from the salesperson field on the form.  I have gone to Tools, Form Options, Property Promotion and I'm pretty much presented with the same thing I saw in Infopath 2003.....I can select the field to display as a column, and the column name exists in my library.  When I submit, the form saves just fine in the library, but I don't get anything in the library column under Salesperson.  I'm trying to use this for a workflow based on the Salesperson name in the form... and it's getting frustrating.  Isn't this supposed to populate the column of the library when the form field is promoted?

I'm having the same issue with one of my forms. There are roughly 20-30 promoted properties that are available in SharePoint. 3 of these show blank data in the form library view even though I can clearly see the data stored in the form when i open it. All 3 fields are text data types. The XML file indicates that the field name matches the site column.
