Hello everyone.
Basically, my issue is that I have an infopath form that submits to a sharepoint form library. When the new form is added to the library, a custom approval workflow is kicked off. The Approver is notified of the new form, reviews it, and approves/rejects the form and assigns a Change Control Number (this is from a "collect data" task in SPD.) The workflow then takes that approval status and CCNumber and insters them as metadata of the form in the Form Library. The user is then sent a confirmation e-mail.
Here's the issue: If the approver has the submitted form open, the workflow breaks. The Data never gets transfered from the to-do item to the metadata. If the approver closes the form before completing the task, the WF continues as expected. When reviewing the logs on the broken workflows it tells me that it can't write the data to the metadata columns because the form is checked out to the approver. This is weird to me, because I don't have check-in/check out enabled.
I tried enabling check-in/check-out and that made things worse. The WF didn't even start anymore as all submitted forms were instantly checked out to the submitter. The WF hung in "starting" status. I've looked all over it seems and can't find a solution to this issue, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who's expierenced this.
If anyone could help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
