email submit based on multiple selection list box.

    Good afternoon,

First I have to say thank you for creating the AD web service.  It has made electronic forms a lot easier!

I have an electronic form with a database connection.  It's a simple database of an employee directory. (employee ID, first name, last name, email address)

The employee directory is flooded into a multiple-selection list box by employee ID displaying Full Name.

What I would like to be able to do is create an email submit button that will email the form to employees selected in the list box.  I'm not quite sure of the function to create for the email submit.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Lucky you, you get to learn about the double eval hack! You'll need to create an email submit connection -- more details on that are available at Office Online, here. In the To field, select the formula editor (fx) and in the formula window, you'll enter something very like this:

    xdMath:Eval(xdMath:Eval(my:group1/my:field1, 'concat(., ";")'), "..")

You need to change my:group1/my:field1 to point to the repeating field that your multi-select list box is bound to. You can use the Insert field or group button to do this.

For more information on this hack, there is a great blog post available here.

Thanks Hilary that worked like a charm!

I created another post in the AD service forum because I believe the next part is related to this service.  (http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/11143/39582.aspx#39582) I'm unsure how to go about the next part in my form.

With the users selected earlier (in the list box) I need to query the AD service and get each user's manager and include them in the email submit. (So each user's manager is CCed with the email created by the form.)

How should I go about tackling this?  I'm kind of stumped on how to approach it.
