Hi there,
I'm going to attempt to explain something that's probably quite difficult to explain. but here goes...
I have a repeating table that I've defaulted to 6 nodes (so when someone opens the form there will be automatically 6 rows on the table.
The table is to do with stages of a project and one of the fields displays that stage. In each of the nodes I've put the name of the stage in that field. When someone opens the form, they will see the 6 rows with each stage in that field. That's the first part.
the other 6 fields are to do with costs and each column represents different grades of staff. that will mean there will be 6 rows of 6 colmns (36 fields of costs).
To make things more complicated, there is another table that is identical to the table above, this table is to do with projected costs and the above table is to do with actual costs.
these two tables are the Main Connection of two database tables.
What I want to do is create some kind of table that's identical looking to the tables above. However, this table is to do with the variance between the two top tables. So it's purpose is only to reference each of the fields and subtract one field from the other to get the difference in cost. This table is NOT a database table. I found one way of doing this by setting up 36 expression boxes and each references the two reletive fields from the other two tables. by subtracting one from the other; the variance is calculated.
this makes the form slow when inputting data. So I was wondering if there was a better way to do this. For example, make a repeating table that had nodes like the tables above but without having a database connection?
I hope that makes sense. I don't want to have so many expression boxes when I could do similar with the other tables.?
Thanks in advance for any help.
