    Deployment

I'm new to Info Path so I'm trying to figure out how to set up a form for users to fill it out. I want the users to be able to open the form from a shortcut and the form open ready to be filled out and with no data in it. When I publish my form the users then open the form but in the form's window it says "Form1 - Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003". Why doesn't it say the same of the form? Also should I "Publish" the form for all the users or should I "Export To"?

    Thanks for any direction.

    Hello JLProgrammer,
1st thing you can publish your form to SharePoint site from where every user can access the form and “Form1 - Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003” is the form name give by InfoPath by default. Each time you open a new form you will see the same name but if you open two forms at the same time then you will see “Form1 - Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003” and “Form2 - Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003”.
2nd thing you need not publish form for all users, you can directly publish form to SharePoint site and give access to that site for the users whom you want to fill. In SharePoint site itself you will get a button “Fill Out This Form” clicking on which new form will be opened

    Hope this helps!

You should "publish" the form to a network shared directory, and then users can have a shortcut to this XSN. Double-clicking this shortcut will open the form for fill out.

It says "Form1" because that is the default name of the file that you save after filling out the form - much like when you open Word the name is "Document1", etc. Changing the default name has been discussed several times in the forum, but I personally do not find it very necessary. Users are accustomed to this behavior as it is standard in all MS Office products.
