I was just recently thrown onto an Sharepoint project after the previous developer was, well, fired. I've run into an issue with one of his InfoPath forms.
I'll give an idea of our set up (figure I'll explain everything I can so you understand my predicament.) We develop everything locally on our machines then of course publish it to various test sites and then onto a production server (in this case they're all Sharepoint servers.) We also keep everything in source control (Team Foundation Server.) My issue with this InfoPath form is that, to my horror, I discovered the last developer last checked in the form and all of the related code behind project files back in May of 2008 and had kept everything checked out since that date. He's made many changes to the form and the code since then (A LOT of changes.) He unfortunately kept everything on his local machine and never checked in ANY changes. Unfortunately we can't find any of his code (we suspect he kept it on an external drive he took with him.)
The form on the Production server is up to date, though. I can grab the form from there but my issue is with the code behind. I notice that InfoPath compiles the code into a .dll. When I publish to Sharepoint does the .dll go with it? Does it actually somehow get meshed in with the form and then get published with it? If that's the case is there anyway I can download the form and extract the .dll out of it? This would make my life easier because if I can get at the .dll I can decompile it and get the code.
My background is more with web and database development (ASP.NET, C#, SQL) so I'm very new to Sharepoint and development with Office products (other than some Access from back in the day) and I admit I'm somewhat lost. I'm not sure how InfoPath and Sharepoint work together just yet.
Thanks for any help in advance!
