Trying to Link One Check Box State to Another

Looking at other's questions, I know my challenge is simple, but I can't figure it out:

Upon selecting one check box, I want another check box to follow suit.

I've tried variations of the following to no avail:

For the second check box, I've set a rule that includes a condition that says the rule only runs when the first check box is "not empty" or set to "true", and then sets the second check box to calculate to the function "true".

Using this strategy, I have not been able to get the second check box to show a "check" when the first check box has been selected.

    Please help!  Thx

A rule is the way to go, but I believe that you should place it (the rule) on the first check box (the "sender") and not the second checkbox (the "receiver"). Try this and let us know if that solves the issue.

I am experimenting with both first and second check box but not getting it to work.  I'm probably not using the correct function.  Some additional info:

    - Both check boxes are configured for "text" data.

    - The check box "states" are either "cleared" or "checked"; however, I don't see that as a choice in any of the functions

    - I've been using "is equal to" and "contains" in the rule along with the "true()" function to try to indicate "cleared" or "checked"; none of the combinations seem to work.

Is there a correct way to set a rule to trigger when a check box is "cleared" or "checked"?

Never mind!  I finally figured it out.  When data type on a check box is set to "text", the condition and action arguments need to reference the actual text corresponding the "cleared" and "checked" states; not "true" or "false"

And yes, it is the first of the two check boxes that gets the rule.

    Thanks for the help.
