    Configuring SUBMIT for SharePoint

I've been working on this one for weeks and still can't get it to work!

I can get it to show the form in my form library (and save even), but it won't allow submit.

Do I send the data to the SharePoint Document Library or to a web service?

Both will work. I think Submit to Sharepoint library is much simler to impliment.

Submitting to the SharePoint library still doesn't display the submitted data though.  I don't understand why SAVE shows my data, but submit gives me an error!

The error went away once I configured the SUBMIT options.

So now, my form says "successfully submitted" but data doesn't show up in my form library (even though I promoted the fields).  ??

    Re: Configuring SUBMIT for SharePoint

    Here's the fix:

At the end of the Data Connection Wizard, check the "Allow overwrite if file exists" box, republish and resubmit form.

To prevent it from overwriting, a formula must be put in to change the file name.

I have the same problem an the Allow overwrite if file exists option is seleted. The first time it submits no problem, the second time it also submits without any error but no data is saved.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Form will be overwrite in the existing form if you check the "Allow overwrite if file exists" option for file name.

Anuba, thanks for the reply, as I stated, this option is selected on my SharePoint submit. This first time I submit the form it works no problem, when I open the form again from the library and change some data, submit it again, the data isnt saved and I receive no errors.

    Re: Configuring SUBMIT for SharePoint

    Hi all. I'm new here.

I'm also having the same issue as AyaBabe and other posters on this disucssion.

I've done alot of searching online and research in various sharepoint/infopath books and still no answer.

I have the form in the library, but there's no data or file after clicking submit. I receive no error messages and infopath indicated that the submit was successful. I got it to work once, but after that the data does not appear.

I know I am not simply overwriting the same file since I am using concat(fieldname, "-", now()) to create a unique file name each time I submit the form.

    Any advice or solutions?

    Thanks.
