I updated my sql table with new fields and now I can't submit my form

    Hi,

I had to add 4 new fields to one of my sql tables and now I can't submit my form. The following error pops up when I try to submit:

Attribute 'c73' not allowed on element '{http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/ado/dataFields}sc-details', according to Schema.

I am assuming that c73 is column 73 which would be where I inserted the new columns.  I looked at the schema file sc-details1 and it does in fact show the new columns. I don't know what to do at this point.

    Thanks in advance,

    Jerri

The form you can't submit -- was it created with a previous version of the template? Is your template set to upgrade automatically when you open an xml created with a previous version? Or do you mean you can't submit newly created forms when you use your template?

I am using the Preview Form function to submit newly created forms as I am still in the process of designing the template.  My form options were set to do nothing on version upgrade, could this be my problem?

    thanks,

No, that would only affect xml files created with previous versions of the form. Try walking through the data conneciton wizard again for your main data connection (select the main connection from the data connections window and select modify) and make sure everything looks correct and that submit is still enabled.

I did that after I added the new fields to the data base and made sure that the new fields were included. I have an older version of the form template in another directory, could this be an issue? Also, I noticed that when I did a search on "Schema" there were numerous cache directories with schema files. Are these caches created everytime I preview my form template?

You could try clearing the previous version of the template from your InfoPath cache, just in case that is causing the issue. Open InfoPath and in the Getting Started window, select All Forms from the Form Categories. Select each previous version and under Form Tasks, select Remove this form.

I cleared the old form version but I still get the same error.  So, I did a search on my c drive for the form and got rid of the old version altogether. That did not help either.  Any suggestions are appreciated.
