I have retrieved the current user by using the _vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx, but how can I validate that the current user is the person who sihned the section of the form? They most likely will be typing in their name or using a saved picture signature.

When they "sign" the form just save the username in another field in the data source.  Then you can compare the form user with the one saved to know if the signer is the one with the form open and permit them to update it or whatever..

Thanks Clay. Could you explain how I pull the saved name from the signed section, so I can compare it to the current user logged on.

Put a rule on the control they sign that uses a set field action to put username() into another field.  That way when it gets changed that is captured as well.

If I have 3 different controls in the section that is being signed, do I put a rule on all of them?
