    Control becomes disabled after insert section

    I have a form with a repeating table in a repeating section. If I add a control in the repeating table, like a date picker control, I can preview the form and use the newly added control to select a date. However, if I insert a new section and attempt to use the date picker control, it is disabled. All other controls (except the new one) in the form are enabled and works after inserting a new section. There is no conditional formatting, rules or code that should be disabling the new control. Any suggestion as to what might be the problem and how to troubleshoot or resolve it?

    Usage: InfoPath 2003 SP2 form with local data source. Form is saved on and used from a file server on the LAN or from local hard disk on the client.

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi,

    Verify that the field is added or not in the template.xml and sample.xml.  There are many reasons to become a newly added control disable. Check out the following link to know more reasons.

    swathip: Thanks for the quick response. I did read the thread you indicated before I posted but did not immediately think my problem was the same, since even without saving the form (just using preview) the field is enabled but disabled after the first insert section. I can confirm that the field is added to template.xml and sampledata.xml.

    Hi,

    Can you attach your xsn here. So that I may help you in the correct direction.

    Swathip: I really appreciate your offer to help and your responses but unfortunately I cannot post the XSN because it's a form used for a business process and contains company information within its design, which I am not allowed to publish externally.

    Hi,

    I think that is not updated in upgrade.xsl. Once verify that. If it is not there in upgrade.xsl, then increase the version of the form.

    1. Open the form in design mode.

    2. Go to Tools-> form options ->Versioning.

    3. Increase the version number and click ok.

    4. Save the form.

    The field is indeed in upgrade.xsl. I did try the increase the version number suggestion and save anyway, but when I open the new version of the form - and insert a new section - the field/control is still disabled.

    I'm having the same problem. Were you able to find a solution?
