    Add/modify/delete data by user rights

    Hi to all,

I am a newbie to Infopath.

I have a Infopath form where I have several group of data. On submit all data are submitted to a SQL database.

I want to allow user to input data and after that to modify/delete this data based by user rights.

It is possible to do something like this in Infopath? If yes, can someone explain me how.

    Thanks a lot.

    Hello Welcome to the Forums,

    Here are two ways,

You can use User Roles in your form. Based on that your group you can give edit permissions. For each group you have to add the conditional formatting to show or hide based on the log in user is belongs to that group or not.

You can add the one secondary file which contains list of users. In onLoad you have to write the code to check the log in user is available in that list or not. Based on that field value you can show / hide your sections.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Because I am a newbie in Infopath, could you explain me more about this? How can I do it and so on. But keep in mind that I have a SQL database in backend and the user use the Windows account .

May be you can suggest some books for reading.

    Thanks for your help.
