File/PrintView on a form does not match screen view

I am having trouble believing that what is displayed on the screen is not reflected on the File - Print View screen. All the Controls appear to be set lower than Expression box lower level.  I checked the controls and the expression boxes margins. They are all set to 1.
How do I make them appear all at the same level?

Also, I would like to remove the underline on the display of the control?

    Hi,

If you want to remove the underlines for Dropdown fields, then create one new view in the form. And Copy all fields from another view and paste in new view. And change dropdown fields to expression boxes.

While printing the form select newly added view instead of other view. In this way you will not see the underlines for fields in Print view.

Thanks Anuma, I will give it a try. Sorry for the late reply, I have got a few issues I am trying to sort out.

I don't quite understand how it will work though.

On a note, I think I have a very large form, over 190 Access fields, and many more InfoPath controls.

So I have a an Entry form, a Print View form,
    and now you say
another modified printview form, with the option to allow the USER to select "newly added" view instead of "other" view.

If I have any problems I will repost. Okay.

Try that one and let me know if you have any issues with that.

I have still to get back to that issue. But as  a thought :::-
When I use Drop down boxes, I use numbers as the value, text as the display.
When you convert to an expression box, on a Print View, only the number value appears.
But, if you think a copy of a Print View into another Print View holds the display text that is great.

    Can you confirm that!!!!!!!!!!!

My worry now is, I have 7 tables instead of 1. I had issues with unbound, and duplicates (the key fields).
I cannot submit to a database as I have more than one table. Seems like I am going to have to spend days reverting my 7 tables back to 1.

Do you have any sugesstions regard the enabling of "submit",  because I feel the last design should be right.

Then I will return to the issue this reply relates to.

It isn't having more than one table that prevents you from submitting. If the form isn't allowing you to submit, it may have to do with the relationships between those tables. From Office Online:

When you connect an InfoPath form to a database, note the following issues:

    • When you connect the form to more than one table in the database, the tables must be connected by key fields.
    • Long data types, including Memo and Hyperlink, should be excluded from the data connection. InfoPath does not support data connections to long data types. To exclude specific fields in the database, use the Data Connection Wizard to set up the data connection.

Re: File/PrintView on a form does not match screen view

    Hi Hilary,

I have been away for a couple of days.

I use the same field in six of the 6 of the 7 tables, the field is intended to be my key field. The tables have a 1 to 1 relationship.
The seventh table has a separate relationship with the master table. These tables have a 1 to many relationship.

I have now set up key field and tried to set relationships in the Access database tables.  The links seem to disappear when I close the relationship table..

In Info path, I redo the data connection now and all the controls come up with red tags. So obviously the setup is wrong again.

Until today, I had one table as the master table in main ( top ) section.
All others I had as repeat sections within the master section.

I shall experiment later this weekend.

    Thanks for your help.

ANy advice you can provide now will be most helpful!!

    regards
    Ian
