Error 2869 during Install with Qdabra log entries

I've tried doing the 2.3 install on my Windows XP SP3 machine, SQL Express is installed on the machine as is IIS 5.1 .

When I try to run the install I get Error 2869.

    The log files say:

    "Error creating app pool"

then a normal messgae saying "Creating Qdabra database"

then another error saying " Error initializing DBXL database.
The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method not allowed."

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Alan

Welcome to the forum and thanks for giving DBXL a try. Sorry to hear you're having problems.

This error most commonly happens on Windows XP Professional. The problem arises when ASP.NET has not been registered with IIS, which happens when .NET 2.0 is installed before IIS.  To remedy this problem, run

    > aspnet_regiis.exe -i

    (which is found in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\(Version)\)

Then try the installer again. Let us know if this solves the issue.

    Thanks.

Re: Error 2869 during Install with Qdabra log entries

Hi Ernesto, I am getting this error as well. BackgroundWe are moving to new 64 bit servers. I backup the Databases used by QDabra and restored them on the new SQL 2005 instance (when installing I point the installer to the correct restored db’s). When running the install I get error 2869. In the event log it says “Error initializing DBXL database”. The QDabra server and the SQL server are on separate boxes and I have followed some of the trouble shooting tricks explained on the forum without any luck. The user I am using to install is a sysadmin user within SQL 2005.We are using version DBXL v2.3_20081107.1.Any advice/guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks,

    Neill

Some more info, the box is running MOSS but I created a seperate site and port for the QDabra site. I also select this site when installing.

    Hi Wizard,

Do you get the same (or different) errors when installing on the same site as MOSS?

We recommend installing DBXL on the same site. Let me know if that produces better (or different) results.

    Thanks.

We definitly want to keep it seperate from MOSS so I am not even going to try and install it tot the same site.

Re: Error 2869 during Install with Qdabra log entries

It turned out to be an easy fix, when I restored the DB to SQL 2005 I didnt check the "Use full-text indexing" on the database itself. So I enabled it and QDABRA installed ;-)

    Thanks.
