Hi, I create browser enabled Info Path form which contains 2 columns in repeating table. In first column i entered Employee ID and in second field i entered Name of the Employee. How can i validate the Unique Employee ID (Ex:-First i entered Employee Id as 1 and Name as Kumar,If Second time i entered Employee Id as 1 it should shows Validation message) Regards, S.Jeeva

Hi Jeeva,

Use the following expression in the data validation of Employee Id field.

. = ../preceding-sibling::my:group2/my:field1 and . != ""

 

Here my:group2 is the repeating node and my:field1 is the employee id node.

 

Hi Swathip, Thank you very much.. Now its works fine. I have one more clarification from you. How can i get unique Employee Name from repeating table. (Ex:- In my repeating table contains Employee Id and Employee Name. I entered 10 employee details one by one. Now i want to get unique employee names from repeating table into 5 different Text boxes . How can i identify or filter unique names.) Regards S.Jeeva

I am also struggling with the same probelm,i tried to use your formula but didn't worked.

I have a repeating table which has got a field ISBN.I want to make sure that data entered in ISBN box across repeating tables are not the same.

So,on the datavalidation for the ISBN textbox,i choosed The Expression and copied your formula replaced with my groupname and field name

. = ../preceding-sibling::my:ISBNDetails/CRFH_ISBN1 and . != "" to the text area next to the expression.Now tried to insert same ISBN's bit not message nothing.Can u help me please with this.

Thanks swathi,I got it .Instead of my:CRFH_ISBN1 i am using CRFH_ISBN1.Now i worked thanks
