Get the Site users in dropdownlist

     Hi,

I have a dropdown list in my IP 2003 form that should be populated with the list of users from the sharepoint site (WSS 3.0). How to go about doing this??

     Regards,

    Reuben

    Hi Reuben,

Is the list of users just in a regular old SharePoint list that you have created and you want to bind that list to a dropdown in InfoPath or are you saying you want to be able to get the list of all users from a SharePoint site and populate a dropdown with that information?

Re: Get the Site users in dropdownlist

    Hi Ted,

I would like to get all the users of the sharepoint site (eg. all outlook contacts names) in the dropdownlist, irrespective of their role and domain.

Is it possible to do so in IP 2003 at the form itself rather than the code?

I have IP 2003 and VS 2005 and I cannot work in VS 2005 as it is given in the following link:

    http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/7190/26314.aspx#26314

Any help would do a great help.

    Thanks,

    Reuben

    Hi Reuben,

Did you see this post on another site:

    http://tim.bellette.net/2008/12/13/getting-sharepoint-users-in-infopath-2003/

This might be helpful I hope?

We have a tool that we sell call "AD Webservice" which really makes this very easy to do: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/ADWebService.aspx

We developed this because using SharePoint to get is so hard.

Even if you do get this working, consider some performance issues that will arise due to populating a dropdown with potentially 100s if not thousands of names.
