Populate Subject line of Email with Fields from attached InfoPath form

We have created a send and receive form which is working OK right now.  Due to the volume being transmitted, I thought it would be nice for them  if in the subject line of the email and or in the name of the attachment we could reference the Patients Name and Contract number to make tracking a little easier.   Looking at the Data Connection Wizard, is there some way to attach coding that would allow you pull the data entered from the NAME field and CONTRACT NUMBER field (1 or both)?

    Hi,

Yes you can do this using the xpath expression option in InfoPath.  Basically in your case you would use the function "concat" (to concactenate text & values from the form) to create the email.

I have attached a simple sample XSN that shows you how this can be done

    Hope this helps

    Ted

Thanks for the information.  I am really surprised as I didn't think there was a chance this would work.  I would love to look at your sample but unfortunately I cannot open it.  Based on the error I am getting, its indicating your version of InfoPath is a more recent version, like 2007.  My version is 2003.  Any chance there is a way I can see it in that version?

A final update............I figured it out!  Your initial direction is what did it.  Thanks.
