With conditional formatting how do I check a blank field

In the conditional format, you enter a field, an operator and a value.  I am having trouble with entering a null string.

If I enter "".  on the final display """" appears, and on running the process, and the field is empty, the expected process does not  occur.

Is there a special code for a null string?

I may have found the only solution.
And that is to select the field to be tested, first, then select expression. The right Dialog box will then show the correct format.

Have you tried choosing is blank from the dropdown box?

Thanks for that Jimmy, I have been looking every where else for the solution.
But I am not sure where or why it was not appearing now. Just over sight I guess.
