Making Radio Buttons and Check Boxes Read-Only

    Hi,

Is there anyway that I can make my radio buttons and check boxes read-only? I'm working with multiple views, and depending on what stage of the workflow we're at, would like to make certain portions of the form read-only.

    Thanks.

    Hello Pras,
You can disable check boxes and radio buttons. For this you will have to save the status of the form in one field and have conditional formating by following these steps:
    1. Double click on check box and click on Display tab
    2. click on Conditional formatting button and click on Add
    3. Select status field in first drop down, is equal to in second drop down and Type text from third drop down, enter the status value for which you want to have check box read only
    4. check 'Disable this control' and click on 'OK' 3 times

You can follow the above steps for radio buttons also.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Shailaja,

Sorry, but I don't even see a display tab when I double click on a check box and/or radio button.

    Hello Pras,
One question that I have for you is – Are you using InfoPath 2003 SP2? If so then you will find Display tab in ‘Check box Properties#%92 when you double click on check box.

    Hope this helps!

I'm so sorry. I was in fact using InfoPath 2003 without any service packs installed. My VPC installation of InfoPath 2003 is in fact at SP1, which explains why I was seeing the display tab there.

Thanks for all your help. It's greatly appreciated.
