    Submitting Infopath 2003 field data to a SharePoint 2003 List

    Hi,

    I'm have some trouble submitting form field data to a sharepoint list.  I followed the instructions posted on the site.

    My GUID is correct for my List but my submit command is giving this error below.  Any help would be appreciated.

    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
    An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
    The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

    Exception of type Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException was thrown.
    <detail>
            <errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">
     List does not exist

     The page you selected contains a list that does not exist.  It may have been deleted by another user.  Click "Home" at the top of the page to return to your Web site.
     </errorstring>
            <errorcode xmlns="0x82000006http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">0x82000006</errorcode>
          </detail>

    Here is a good instruction on how to push InfoPath items into a SharePoint list.

    Thanks.  This is what I followed setting everything up.  All seems to be fine.  I can retrieve data from the list fields but submitting is giving me the error mentioned in my first post.

    Hi,

    I think you are selecting the list service of the root site instead of the sub site......

    BTW, Are you using main site or created any sub site?

    At the main site, I go to Documents and Lists and click on the actual list.  From there, I click on modify settings and columns.  In the browser URL space I copied the following GUID {09740C38-98D2-4273-80DE-8B884C881327} into my form template field called ListName.

    There are no subsites.

     I can't find any other GUID for my list.

    Any other thoughts...

    Thanks
    Lou

    ok....

    I was able to get this to work and now understand the concept of how to submit to a sharepoint list.  But I have a few questions to what I'm trying to achieve.

    I already have a repeating table with multiple columns doing some simple calculations and a footer row doing all the totals.  I just want to submit the "total" fields of my repeating table to sharepoint list columns.

    I do not need to retrieve any data into the form.I just want a submit button to send the "total" fields and another "title" field that will make it unique to the other sharepoint rows and just overwrite the entries when a form is submitted.

     Any help is appreciated....

    Thanks

    Lou
