Hi, I have a repeating section RS1. It has 5 records/rows (say). One of the fields in the records (rows) is "Status" which can have values 1, 2 and 3. How do I write the rule in the button so that when I press the button, the values in the status fields that have "2" change to "Submitted" (say). Thanks, Shivaji

Can you take a look at this xsn please?  I could not save sources :(  using IP 2003... should that matter?

I think better design instead of button would be removing button completelly and assign set of rules to the field with numbers. Each state will require 1 rule with condition.

Actually, there is a form in production that has a button which needs to be used to set these values. This button does other things as well. So when that button is pressed, along with 6 other rules, I need to have a rule to set values of this Status field to "Submitted" if the values are not "Canceled".

IP 2003 has the ability to save templates as source files.  It is in the File menu of Design mode.  You can also extract the file from Windows explorer by changing the file's extension to .CAB

 Please try the attached form.  It has the rule you described.
