    Submitting Over 600 Variables

We are using an InfoPath 2003 form that collects over 600 variables (fields) on each client. I am running into a problem where the user tries submitting the data and gets an error that reads, "query too complex...". I created the form with numerous "submit" buttons throughout so that users will submit small "chunks" of data as they progress through the form. Unfortunately, some users fail to submit the form's data as requested and may wait until they complete the entire form before trying to submit the data. At which point they receive the "query too complex..." error.

I assume it has somethine to do with the "255 limit," however, we do occasionally get the error when trying to submit less than 255 variables at once--seems in these cases it may have something to do with how many characters we try to submit at once. For example, trying to submit 20 variables that contain text (e.g., short paragraphs).

Does anyone know of a workaround for this issue or other ideas? We are not using Sharepoint Server. We simply have an InfoPath form connected to an Access database on a network drive.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi -- I'm not familiar with the '255 limit' that you mention, and I've not seen the query too complex error before, but I do have a thought as to how to force the user to submit the smaller chunks of data. Use separate views for the blocks you want to have filled out and submitted, then add buttons that say 'Next' or some such. When the user clicks to go to the next section that is to be filled out, in the rules on the button, you can make the form submit.....
