Error message when users open form published in sharepoint...

    Hi there,

I've got a problem I hope someone can help me with...

I've published a InfoPath template to a SharePoint Library. The form uses data from a SQL Server database. These forms are for 2009. There are forms for 2008 which are identical, the only difference is that it's a new form library. The form library is still in the same site so I'm assuming it's inherited the same permissions that the 2008 forms have.

When users open the 2008 forms, there's no problems, when users open the 2009 forms they receive this error.

The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized: vTRSdataAllAudits

The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: vTRSdataAllAudits

InfoPath cannot run the specified query.

[0x80004005][Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server] The server principal "ServerName\UserName" is not able to access the database "DatabaseName" under the current security context.

I don't really know what to do as they can access the other forms which use the same data sources.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks in advance for any help I receive.

    Paul

Re: Error message when users open form published in sharepoint...

    Hi,

This looks like a timeout issue, so either the machine is slow or the network today or maybe an issue with the database.

If you have a lot of data it may be time to look at SQL Express.

You could try increasing the timeout on the web service data connection in your form to elimintate the error

BTW, Are you using same sharepoint and Db for 2008 and 2009 forms?

Thanks for getting back to me Anuma

I'm pretty sure it's not a timeout as far as the db's concerned. both forms use the same db, each form library is located in the same sharepoint site and I can open the form. Obviously I have more permissions (dbownver), however, the fact that everyone can open the 2008 forms that use the same db is puzzling that they should get the message:

"ServerName/UserName" is not able to access the database "AS_Time" under the current security context

This is why I'm not sure it's a timeout. everything works efficiently as far as speed.

I'm not sure what else to do.

    Hi,

Can you verify that data connections and db name is given correct for 2009 forms library?

Re: Error message when users open form published in sharepoint...

I can confirm that all data connections use the correct db and have the exact names and SQL statements and are identical to the 2008 forms.  I'm unsure why one form would suggest that the security priveledge is lesser than another form when it's retrieving info from the exact same place.

Can you think of anything else? it wouldn't be something to do with fully trusted forms or anything? I'm sure the person who designed the forms never used this option.

There is however a first dialog that pops up:

    ADO Security Warning
this website is using your identity to access a data source. if you trust this website. click OK to conticnue, otherwise click Cancel.

I'm advised this was the problem with 2008 forms and was corrected by adding the forms in IE7 group policy trusted sites, which is still to be done for the 2009 forms. I get this message but I can still open the forms without the error.

    Hope that helps.
