    InfoPath:XmlFormView with scrollbar does not show required field Astrix (red star) where it should

    I am using XmlFormView in an aspx page to show the Infopath form.
    I would like to show vertical scrollbar to the form with fixed height, to achieve this I am embedding InfoPath:XmlFormView in a <div> tag.

                <div id="divViewer" runat="server"  style="overflow:hidden; height:300px">
                    <InfoPath:XmlFormView ID="sectionViewer1" runat="server" Width="100%"
                                        XsnLocation="https://server/templates/form1.xsn>
                </div>

    Problem is with required fields, when scrollbars are enabled the Astrix marks (red star marking the required field)  and tool tip ("Can not be blank") are not rendered where they should be.

    They appear random in the HTML.

    Has anyone faced similar issue? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hello Welcome to the Forums,

    Validation setting is available in manifest.xsf file and required field setting is available in myschema.xsd file. We can add check the ‘Cannot be blank' check box for that field in InfoPath form.

    Are you tryinng to put any validation for that field? On which file you are doing the above setting?

    Hi Shiva,

    thanks! for the reply

    Required field settings is from myschema.xsd.

    Isn't it obvisous that the Form has required fields and the Form height is restricted in web form?

    Have you ever tried Required fields in web form with scrollbars?

    Hi,

    To my knowledge, if we use InfoPath:XmlFormView with scrollbar the red asterisk for required fields will appear randomly in the form but the tool tip will be shown correctly as they appear in the normal form.

    The hotfix for this issue is available. Look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/959639

    You will have to request Microsoft for hotfix download.

    Thanks,
    HK
