InfoPath Document Creation with Visual Studio 2005

    Hi

I am a newbie to infopath.

I have installed the Infopath 2003 for visual studio 2005 tookit.

What I want to do is this, please let me know if this is possible. I want to create a website ASP.NET 2.0 with a SQL database behind. On the page you click new Infopath document, it loads an infopath control in it, where the user can create a new infopath document on the webpage clicks save and it saves to the database.

Is this possible with Infopath 2003 and visual studio 2005? If so could someone please point me to some sample code so I can have a look.

     Thanks

     Hi Shiva

Thanks for that but tha is the toolkit for visual studio 2003. I have installed the toolkit for 2005 but can't see anywhere to put an infopath control onto my page? When I start an infopath 2003 project all it does is open infopath 2003 with a new form to design? Could you point me at some sample code so I can see where other people have used Infopath 2003 controls on their pages?

    Thanks

    Hello,

You have to follow these steps to create the solution of InfoPath,

    1. In Visual Studio, File -> New -> Project.

    2. You have to choose language in left side of Project types in New Project window.

    3. Select Visual C# to expand and select Office then you can see ‘InfoPath Form Template' in right side Templates.

    4. Click on OK button.

    5. In ‘Design a Form Template' window select ‘Blank' and click on OK button.

You have InfoPath form with solution. In this form you can add your controls and double click on button and choose Edit Form code to enter the code file.

     Heya

Thanks for that but not quite what I wanted. I figured out I can't do what I want with infopath 2003, unless I use the createobject and grab a hold of infopath object and manually create the page like that. I guess I will just have to update to infopath 2007 and use the hosting controls there.

     Thanks
