    How to Edit .xsf file

I apparently stumbled across a known bug in Infopath 2003. I created a footer and then a header which then corrupted my infopath file and no longer allows me to open it. I have read that all I need to do is open the infopath file (.xsn) with winzip or winrar and then edit some code in the .xsf file. I was unable to find a way to edit the .xsf file within winrar. Within winzip, I can "edit" the .xsf file, however, the changes I make do not save... the .xsf file remains corrupt.

Can anyone tell me how to edit the .xsf file and then save the changes and package the .xsf back up with the .xsn file?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Extract your winzip or wirar folder and then edit your .xsf file from extracted folder.

I am able to get that far without any trouble. After repacking, I get an error and the file will not open. It seems that the file is not being recognized as a correct .xsn file or something in the repacking process is corrupting the .xsn file.

    Hello,

Are you able do the changes in manifest.xsf file? After doing the changes are you able to save the file?

Then open that manifest.xsf file in design mode and publish to local folder then it will create the .xsn file.

You should compile XSN with infoPath by pressing constructor mode on the manifest XSF file - open in INfopath and file - save as XSN: source - https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/infopath/2004/05/04/modifying-infopath-manifest-xsf-file-from-script-15/
Every difficulty is a new possibilty
