Is it possible to disable the save confirmation when clicking the cancel button?  I just want the form to close when someone clicks cancel.

Are you using a button with a rule to close the form? The rule action to Close the form has a checkbox that says "If changes have not been saved, prompt the user to save". You can check/uncheck this as you desire.

It's the default cancel button at the top and bottom of the form between the submit and print view buttons.  I had hoped I could control the behavior of the cancel button using rules without having to use VSTA.

Does the button say cancel or close?  I don't know of a cancel button anywhere.  If you are referring to the built-in close button that shows up in the toolbar on a browser-enabled form, then all you have to do is go into your form options and deselect the close button on the Browser tab.  That way, it won't show up.  You can then put a custom close button in the form with a rule that simply closes the form without prompting to save.

Sorry, its the standard close button.  I had hoped I could control its behavior like I can with the submit button but it sounds like I need to create custom buttons to do that, correct?

Yes, you do, but it's very simple and requires no code.  In the end, you will have a much more useful "close" button that can do any number of things you want...or simply just close it without the save prompt.  I just drag a button control onto the canvas, change the label to say "close," and put a rule behind it to just close without saving.  It takes the user straight back to the library quickly.

Here is another way to do on Save,

If we write OnSaveRequest in code we can avoid saving the form if user click on Cancel using below code,
