    Active Directory in infopath Webforms

     Hi,

I ve created a infopath web form published in WSS 3.0.  I need to get the First Name and Last name of the person who is filling the form. I ve used web service http://share/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx (GetUserProfileByName) and i m able to retrive the first name and last name offline. When i hit the design checker to verify error it shows 'Data Connection contains parameterized queries'. And when i publish the page in the WSS 3.0 site the page opens with an error. Why is it so?

    Hello,

Are you using any code to run the web service? Can you give more detail on your error message? What are the input values you are passing to this web service before executing?

Are you getting an actual error in the Design Checker or just a warning with an info icon (blue) next to it?  If it were a red error, it would tell you when you publish.

Also, what error are you getting when trying to view it in SharePoint?  Is it a 5566 data access error?  I do exactly what you're trying to do all the time, but I never use WSS 3.0 - only MOSS.

I m not using any code to run the webservice. I used data connection wizard to connect to webservice. I can retrieve the value offline. but when i try publish it in the sharepoint site it throws an error 5566 and says Continue or start over. if i give continue the username textfield for which the webservice is used is shown blank.

later i figured out that when i have mutliple browser open at the same time in sharepoint with different user login, then the problem arises.

But i need to figure for a work around in using such webservice.

There are many different causes for the data access error when using the UserProfile web service, so we would need to narrow down the variables.  The big question is what happens when you just log in to your computer on the domain with a normal user ID and then try to open the form?  Does it work?  If not, then we can start there.  If it DOES work, then why is it you need a workaround for having multiple browsers with multiple logins at the same time on the same computer?
