    A comparison of code environments

Hi, I've been using InfoPath for a little while and I'm now starting to include custom manged code in my designs. However I'm running into difficulties becasue the documentation is hit and miss.

Do you know of any good resources that compare what is available to InfoPath 2007 VSTA code versus that InfoPath forms and Visual Studio code?

What brought this to light for me was thisXDocument. After searching for it I found that using VSTA doesn't use this (I'm not even 100% sure of this).

     Any resources would be great.

Do keep in mind the different object models for InfoPath. InfoPath 2003 OM (C#) uses thisXDocument. You can change your form to use C# (InfoPath 2003 Compatible) under Tools / Form Options / Programming. The 2007 OM (C#) uses this. You can also make this change in a Visual Studio InfoPath project, you just have to click Remove Code first.

You will probably see more code samples in the forums and such for the 2003 OM, simply because it has been in use longer. This blog has nice samples for both IP 2003 and 2007, which may help you with some of the differences in the code for the different object models.
