Comment Field That Retains Author and Timestamp

I'm using InfoPath in conjunction with a K2 workflow. I'd like to be able to give each individual who touches the form to be able to add his/her own comments. I'd also like these comments to be visible to the next person who see the form, complete the with individuals name and a timestamp showing when the comment was added.

Is there a way of doing this?

    Thanks.

Hello Pras and Welcome to Forums,
You can have a date and user name fields in a table, populate then with today date and current user name on submit. Get those fields data and show in expression boxes along with previously entered comments in a section.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Shailaja,

Sorry, but I don't think I quite understand your post.

The way I interpret your recommendation is that I store the current date and userID in a table. Then, on submission, merge that with a comments box that I've created, which in turn, gets merged with a running list of comments?

    Thanks.

    Hello Pras,
    Sorry to confuse you.
    1. First thing you Insert a Master detail control, in Master table you can have a date and user name fields which auto populate with today#%92s date and current login name and in Detail section just have a comments text box.
    2. Second thing have a separate comments field in other section.

You should have some code which will copy the comments written in separate comments field to the comments field of Detail section.
So when ever the form is submitted the date and user name fields will be auto populated and Comments which are entered in separate comments field will get copied into Comments field of details section.
Now if you want to display these comments along with date and user name then have one more section where you can have 3 expression boxes one is for Comments, second is for date and third is for user name.

    Hope this helps!
