preview view and printed form look different

Whenever I preview my form it looks dandy, though when I print the form the text doesn't line up with controls.  Do I need to use more layout boxes or is there some other kind of issue?  I did a workaround by adding spaces till the print version looked okay but left the electronic version looking messy.  I know I can do a default view and print view to alleviate the electronic view from looking misaligned but was hoping I wouldn't have to put in the work to make the print version look like the electronic version.

I had this same problem but I figured out to do the following to get past it.

Use the "Create Print Version for this View" option in the View Tab.

    1. In the Views task pane, double-click the print view you just made to bring up the View Poperties box.
    2. Select the options that you want on the Print Settings and Page Setup tabs, like the margins, and then press OK.
    3. Go back to the original view, and select everything by pressing Ctrl+A.
    4. Then Copy the selected by pressing CTRL+C.
    5. Switch back to the print view and paste the selection from the original view by pressing Ctrl+V.
    6. Delete out any controls or text or formatting that you don't need.

Use the width guideline to determine whether or not all items will fit on the printed page. You can find this option on the View menu. Select "Page Width Guide". You can also add page breaks. Just put your curser where you want the page to break and use the insert menu to add the Page Break.

    Hope this helps.

That was the solution I came up with as well.  I was hoping that I didn't have to add non-breaking spaces to make things line up correctly in the print view.  I guess that's why they created a print view.

Similar to how web pages have print-friendly pages.
