Using a Distribution List in name field returns error on save

Form started out in SharePoint automatically sends emails based on the "Assigned To" field change.

Then form was converted to use InfoPath, care was taken to assign values and match all field attributes between what was in SharePoint and the properties in InfoPath.

Individual names can be added and saved in the Assigned To field with success.

However, ANY distribution list produces and error......    I have also had the one that is dedicated to the process reset in our Active Directory to see if AD was the issue, even after reset and security checks error still occurs.  I have also tried other distribution lists in this field and all produce the same error.

I can change all fields on the form and save successfully....  ONLY when I use a distribution List in my Assigned To field do I produce this error:

    The form cannot be submitted.
The user does not exist or is not unique.

An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the server.

    Log ID:5567

This error is impacting a workflow and cannot resolve why this is occuring.

    Another topic here. http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/20988/72702.aspx

I was finally able to resolve my issue using the link above in combination with making sure the username format specified was domain\user_name.
