Copy of InfoPath string column data into SharePoint metadata column

    Hi,

I would like to use metadata columns in SharePoint. If I submit the InfoPath forms to SharePoint I get normal string columns. Out of these columns I would like to create the information for the already created metadata columns in other libraries. So my scenario is that I submit forms to a standard InfoPath/Forms SharePoint library. After that I want to store a copy of that form in a general document library. This document library has the same columns as the form library (same name) but these columns come out of a different contend type. All the columns in the document library are managed metadata columns. So my question is:Is it possible to copy information in standard string columns into managed metadata columns?Of course the information in the columns is the same. In the form it is selected out of dropdown list.Is there may be a easy way out of the box?I use SharePoint and InfoPath 2010.

    Thanks, Robert

Well we found a work around:

With a mapping list it is possible to select the needed fields. The mapping list just needs a string column for example the Titel and a managed metadata column. Now all the managed metadata field have to be filled in with there normal string text mapped.

With the Update item action in the workflow it is now possible to select the fields in the mapping table.

It is only important to add  -1;#  front of the Assigned value.
