Create a textbox in a secondary data source influenced control

Hi I'm using a secondary data source from sharepoint that contains at least one repeating field. I found that you can drag and drop this repeating field onto your form and this gives you the option to create a repeating section w/ or w/out controls and a repeating table. I use it to create a repeating section w/ controls but Infopath will not allow me then to add a textbox to this repeating section. Is there anyway to do this where the added textbox still binds to the main data source but the repeating section is still bound to the secondary data source?

Well, the issue you'll run into here is that your main data souce field can't repeat there - that is, since the repeating group is bound to the secondary data source, you'd only have one instance of the main data source field. Is that what you were wanting?

Well no I'd want that main data source field for each instance of the repeating section. For my case the repeating section has a txtbox field for a description and a txtbox field for a task code. Depending upon items checked in a mutiple selection list box the repeating section appears mutiple times with different descriptions and task codes. This is basically what I am doing --> http://www.bizsupportonline.net/blog/2009/07/sharepoint-list-multi-select-list-box-conditional-formatting-show-hide-sections/ Now for each repeating section I would like to add a txtbox field for hours. However Infopath won't let me add the textbox to the repeating section and I think I understand why because it would be like I'm adding a new field to that secondary data source. I was wondering though if there was a clever way to bind that txtbox field to something in the main data source and yet still house it inside that repeating section?

    Not to my knowledge.
